A few terms you'll see around the site and in the nursery.
| Term | Meaning |

| Food Forest | A garden designed in layers — canopy trees, shrubs, perennials, ground covers, and vines — that mimics a natural woodland to grow food with less upkeep. |
| Organic | Grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. |
| Pollinator | An animal, like a bee or butterfly, that moves pollen between flowers, helping plants reproduce and bear fruit. |
| Perennial | A plant that lives for multiple years, returning each season instead of needing to be replanted. |
| Annual | A plant that completes its life cycle in one growing season and needs to be replanted each year. |
| Permaculture | A design approach for growing food that works with natural ecosystems rather than against them. |
| Companion Planting | Growing different plants near each other so they benefit one another — for pest control, pollination, or soil health. |
| Native Plant | A species that occurs naturally in a region, typically well-suited to local pollinators and growing conditions. |
